CO-MUN'20

Honorable Participants;

As the Secretary-General of CO-MUN’20, it is a great pleasure for me to welcome you all to our conference, Online COVID-19 Model United Nations Conference. I would like to mention about myself. My name is Buğra ÖKSÜZ and I am a 10th Grade student in Nesibe Aydın High Schools. When I was a first-timer, I realize that MUN is an amazing conference that makes me happy. So I attended 6 conferences in 4 months. I always wanted to organize an MUN, which includes lots of unforgettable memories. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, me, my dear Academic  and Organization Team, have decided to organize an online Model United Nations conference since all of the Model UN conferences are postponed or cancelled. So we are here! I appreciate them for their hardworking and I hope you have lots of fun and unforgettable moments in our conference. 

We have prepared 6 committees for our highly esteemed participants. Our first committee is the “United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)” with its agenda item “Usage of Synthetic Drugs and Production Techniques”. Our Under-Secretary-General responsible for this committee is DİDEM SENA ÖZŞAHİN.

Our second committee is going to be the “United Nations Security Council (UNSC)” with its agenda item “The Cold War”. Our Under-Secretary-General responsible for this committee is ALEYNA MERT.

Our third committee is the “United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UNWOMEN)” which has the “The Patriarchy Issue” agenda item. Our Under-Secretary-General responsible for 
this committee is EYLÜL SİBEL DİDİNİR.

Our fourth committee is “JCC: Cuban Missile Crisis” and our agenda item for this committee is “John F. Kennedy’s Policies Druing the Timeline Between 1960 and 1970”. Our Under-Secretary-General responsible for this committee is AHMET BURAK ÇİFTÇİ.

Our fifth committee will be “CC: Vienna Congress” with the agenda item of “Rising the Ideologies During the Timeline Between 1815 and 1848”. The Under-Secretary-General responsible for this committee is KAAN ALKAN.
 Son ve altıncı komitemiz “G-20”. Komitemizin gündem maddesi “Libya’da 2011 yılında Muammer Kaffafi’nin öldürülmesinin ardından başlayan iç savaş, siyasi kriz ve alınabilecek önlemler”. G-20 komitemizin genel sekreter vekili MERVE CEYLAN.

  My name is Naz Ayşe Ceylan and I study at Ted Istanbul College. As the Director-General of CO-MUN’20, we are honored to welcome you all to the 1st edition of  Online COVID-19 Model United Nations Conference on behalf of my Organisation Team. Because of a global pandemic, we are all trapped in our houses with the need of a MUN conference. Our team has organized an online MUN for you, our highly esteemed delegates to experience the same MUN debate and fun while being in our houses. Before doing a prejudgement about online MUN’s, I like to guarantee that you will have an unforgettable and an excellent MUN experience. Both of our Academic and Organization Teams worked so hard to ensure you have the greatest experience possible and improve your academic skills during the conference. We as a whole believe that we, as the youth, have a voice and we need to use it for good. Our goal is to both entertain and gain you skills by having the most quality time as you can in these dolorous days. We hope CO-MUN’20 gains you extraordinary collections and knowledge, and we are looking forward to meeting and seeing each of you at our conference!
